Using the ODBC Capability
There is now a facility to create the ODBC DSN from the Utilities tab of the Woosage Control Centre, so the information below this blue box is mainly for troubleshooting or making changes to the ODBC DSN directly.
To create or update the ODBC DSN use the Create DSN button in the Utilities tab.
If updating ODBC due to an update of Sage version, then ensure Sage is updated first.
If the
data path is on a server the UNC format should be used (e.g. \\ServerName\FolderName\FileName)
as opposed to the drive letter form.
Carry out the following steps to create a new ODBC Data Source for Woosage.
On the
Windows PC where Woosage is installed open the ODBC Data Source
Administrator (32-bit) in Windows Administrative Tools, which displays the
following:
Note: if you are using the 64-bit version of Sage you must run the 64-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator.
Select the System
DSN tab and click the Add… button, which opens the following window:
Select Sage
Line 50 vXX (where XX is the version of Sage you are using, 26 in this
example) and click the Finish button and the following window is
displayed (with empty fields).
Enter the name
for the data source as WoosageToSage, then enter the path to your Sage
data, which MUST match the path name in the Woosage settings (copy from teh settings and paste in to the Data Path field). Then click the OK button and your new ODBC data source should appear in the list as shown below.
