Updating the Woosage50 Service


To update the Woosage50 Service on the Woosage50 device with the latest version, follow the steps detailed in this article.

The Woosage50 device is the PC or server that the Woosage50Service runs on and if you are unsure about the location of the Woosage50 device you can locate it as follows.
  1. On the website go to WooCommerce>Woosage50>Settings>Advanced
  2. Scroll down the page to Enable debug mode and change the setting to Yes
  3. Click Save Settings
  4. In the Woosage50 header under the Remote Service column note the Machine ID
  5. Go scroll back down to Enable debug mode and change the setting to No
  6. Click Save Settings
If this device is a server you may have to enlist the assistance of your IT support provider.

Alert
Important. If the website is not running the latest version of the Woosage50 Plugin we recommend updating it, as the installed version of the plugin may be incompatible with the latest version of the service.  The Woosage50 Plugin can be updated as described in the article Updating the Woosage50 Plugin (opens in a new tab).

Installing the Woosage50 Service on the Woosage50 Device

There are 2 Woosage50 components to be installed, which will replace the existing versions - The main Woosage50Service and the Woosage50MonitorService, which will monitor the main service and restart it, if necessary. 
  1. Download the latest version of the Woosage50 installers from here  and save it to your local drive, as follows.
    1. In the folder there should only be two files and a sub-folder containing previous versions. If more than 1 or either file use the highest version number.
    2. click the checkbox next to the files:
      1. Woosage50Setup_vx.x.x.zip and
      2. Woosage50MonitorSetup_v.x.x.x.zip (x.x.x are the version numbers)
    3. click the Download button at the top of the page
  2. Locate the downloaded Woosage50Setup zip file and double click (or right-click and select Open) to run the installer
  3. In the Woosage Setup dialogue box check the following and amend if necessary:
    1. Install Config File checkbox is NOT ticked
    2. Start Service checkbox IS ticked
  4. Click the Next button
  5. If the Preparing to Install box shows that the Woosage50Service needs to be closed, choose Automatically close the applications and click Next.
  6. When the installer has completed, click Finish
  7. Locate the downloaded Woosage50MonitorSetup zip file and double click (or right-click and select Open) to run the installer
  8. In the Woosage Monitor Setup dialogue box check the following and amend if necessary:
    1. Start Service checkbox IS ticked
  9. Click the Next button
  10. If the Preparing to Install box shows that the Woosage50MonitorService needs to be closed, choose Automatically close the applications and click Next.
  11. When the installer has completed, click Finish
This completes the installation of the Woosage50 services, which will be updated and running.

Alert
If an error is encountered when the installer is trying to replace the sqlite.dll file, click Retry. If it fails a second time, you should be ok to click Ignore as this file is not updated.
