When the
Woosage Service is installed it is set to start-up automatically when the PC is rebooted, but it can be Stopped, Started or Restarted using the Utilities tab in the Woosage Control Centre.
When the service starts it will immediately start the processing cycle, which consists of the following steps:
- Get orders and add to Woosage database
- Import order to Sage and allocate stock to order, if option set
- If Woosage Pro and Disable Stock Update option is not set:
- Get Free Stock amount for all products that are marked Publish To Web and add to Woosage database
- Get website stock amounts, compare to Woosage records and update website, where different taking account of any order that may have occurred since the cycle started
- Sleep until next cycle start time
At the end of the cycle Woosage stops processing (sleeps) for a period defined in the Woosage Settings>Website as Sleep Duration (minutes) and restarts after this time, which is also referred to as the cycle frequency.
In Woosage Control Centre shows the service status is shown under the application title as shown above.
Last Poll indicates the last time the service started and may show in Green or Red. Green indicates the last cycle started and another one is due within Frequency. Red indicates that the start of teh next cycle is overdue, which is usually because the service is stopped.
Orders is the number of order found in a Processing state within the Order Window (from Settings). This may not reflect new orders, but ones that it will check to see if they have already been exported
Frequency (mins) is the Sleep Duration (how long the Woosage Service will pause at the end of the processing cycle)
Note:
to change any settings or start/stop the Woosage Service it must be run as an
administrator (the desktop icon created during installation automatically
starts Woosage Control Centre in administrator mode).
